DISCOVERY GUIDE
Find a useful starting point.
Explore public projects with live demos. Try the demo, inspect the source and check the licence before making your own copy.
Searching the library
Search covers project names, descriptions, saved overviews, technologies, tags and extracted README keywords. Best match puts direct matches first, followed by a separate group for README mentions, related terms and similar spellings. Popularity breaks ties. Choose another sort in Filters if you prefer. All your search words must match; this is keyword search rather than semantic understanding. Saved README coverage varies between projects.
Categories and subjects
Projects have a broad category and can belong to multiple subjects, such as Architecture & building design, Animation or Simulation. Subject tags use saved names, descriptions and topics. README-only matches are suggestions for administrator review. All saved listings are reassessed during syncs and publication when rules change; administrator category overrides take precedence.
What the rankings mean
- Popular
- GitHub stars and forks, weighted 70% and 30% using logarithmic scores. Spaces use Hugging Face likes. Mixed results compare rank within each source; raw counts are not directly comparable.
- Trending
- Measured daily star and fork growth using saved observations at least a day apart, with a baseline near seven days ago. Projects without enough observations do not appear. This is not a live social-media trend.
- Newest
- Repository or Space creation date, rather than the date it entered RepoShelf.
- Recent releases
- Saved releases published within the last 30 days, ordered by their publication date.
- Community discoveries
- Public Hacker News and Bluesky discussions linking to repositories, ranked using observed engagement and recency. Coverage is partial; posts and counts are periodically refreshed.
- Editor’s picks
- Independent editorial selections. Featured projects require an available repository, a successful demo check within seven days and a usable preview. Selection does not guarantee security or suitability.
Your account
Demos, repositories and README links are open to guests. Sign in with GitHub to save likes, sync optional viewing history, verify public forks, submit repositories and send private reports. Forking happens on GitHub; duplicating a Space requires a Hugging Face account.
Account & data lets you download your saved information or delete your account. Analytics is an optional, separate choice in Privacy preferences.
Connect your AI assistant
Use the MCP setup guide to let Codex or Claude Desktop search saved projects and read their documents before building. Local setup uses a downloaded snapshot and needs no API key. Hosted access currently requires a private administrator key.
Checks and screenshots
Demo checks confirm that a page loaded at the recorded time. Screenshots show a past observation, and placeholders mean a usable image has not been saved. Neither is a full test of functionality or a security review. You can report a broken demo or misleading listing from project details.
Promotion policy
Paid placement is separate from Editor’s picks and must be clearly labelled Sponsored. The current promotion programme is a Stripe test mode available only to administrators; public purchases and placements are disabled.
