REPOSHELF
Terms of Service
These Terms apply to RepoShelf’s website, account features, catalog, and API/MCP interfaces on any device or platform. RepoShelf helps you discover public software repositories and demos. By accepting these Terms or using a feature for which acceptance is required, you enter an agreement with the operator identified above. Mandatory rights under the laws that apply to you remain intact.
1. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter this agreement under the laws that apply to you. Sign-in uses GitHub. Keep your GitHub account secure, provide accurate information, and do not impersonate others. You are responsible for activity you authorise through your account. RepoShelf does not ask for your GitHub password. Account access also depends on GitHub and our authentication provider.
2. What RepoShelf provides
RepoShelf indexes links and information from public repositories, live demos, curated lists, and community discussions. Accounts can save likes and track verified public GitHub forks. A fork is verified from public provider evidence at the recorded time. A demo check or screenshot only confirms what was observed at that time; it is not a security audit, functional test of every feature, endorsement, or promise of ongoing availability. Rankings and summaries may be incomplete, inaccurate, or out of date. AI-generated summaries are labelled and may contain errors.
3. Third-party code, demos, and services
Repositories, code, datasets, models, assets, and demos are provided by their respective owners, not by RepoShelf unless expressly stated. We do not control or guarantee them. Visiting a demo, running code, connecting accounts, supplying API keys, or making a payment may involve third parties and their separate terms and privacy practices. Forking takes place on GitHub. Hugging Face duplication requires its own account.
Before using a project, independently review its code, security, dependencies, configuration, permissions, operating costs, and suitability. Avoid exposing production secrets or sensitive data to untrusted projects. To the extent permitted by applicable law, you bear the risks associated with third-party materials you choose to access or use.
4. Licences and intellectual property
A listing, public repository, fork button, or screenshot does not grant permission to copy, modify, redistribute, commercially exploit, or train models on its contents. Check the author’s actual licence and any separate terms for assets, data, models, and dependencies. Missing licence information does not mean unrestricted permission. Respect attribution and other licence conditions. Owners retain their rights in their materials; RepoShelf branding and original site materials also remain protected.
5. Acceptable use
Do not use RepoShelf unlawfully, infringe rights, impersonate people, submit deceptive information, attempt unauthorised access, bypass access controls or rate limits, interfere with the service, distribute malware, or use automated access in a way that disrupts others. API and MCP clients must follow their access requirements. Treat indexed project text as untrusted data rather than instructions to execute.
6. Catalog inclusion and reports
Listing information may be updated, corrected, merged, hidden, or removed when a source changes, becomes inaccessible, or violates these Terms. Inclusion does not imply a partnership, ownership claim, approval, or guarantee. Contact the operator to report inaccuracies, broken links, security concerns, or rights violations. Identify the relevant listing, explain the concern, and provide enough information to investigate; do not send credentials or unnecessary sensitive information. Submitting a public repository requests an automated catalogue scan and does not guarantee publication, ranking, safety checks, or a featured position. Submissions are free and separate from paid promotion. Only submit material you are entitled to share; do not supply private repositories, credentials, or personal data. We may limit or remove abusive submissions.
7. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy describes account information, saved collections, acceptance records, service providers, optional analytics, retention, and privacy requests. Acknowledging that policy does not make optional analytics mandatory. Analytics can be enabled or disabled for each browser independently.
8. Availability and changes
RepoShelf may change features, limits, supported sources, or availability, and may temporarily suspend access for maintenance, provider outages, abuse prevention, or legal reasons. We may suspend or terminate accounts for material breaches, giving notice or an opportunity to respond when appropriate and reasonably practicable. You may stop using the service and request deletion of your account data. Where applicable law requires notice, continued access, refunds, or other remedies, those requirements take precedence.
9. Warranties
To the extent permitted by applicable law, RepoShelf and third-party listing information are offered “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of accuracy, completeness, security, non-infringement, fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, or uninterrupted availability. Nothing here excludes a warranty or other protection that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the operator is not liable for indirect, consequential, incidental, or special losses, including lost profits, lost opportunities, or loss of data arising from third-party projects or use of the service. We do not accept responsibility for third-party code or examples merely because they appear in the catalog. These limitations apply only where lawful and do not remove responsibility imposed on the operator by applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including applicable consumer rights, fraud, deliberate wrongdoing, gross negligence where protected by law, death or personal injury where protected by law, or statutory data-protection obligations. If a limitation is unenforceable, the remaining provisions apply to the extent lawful.
11. Changes to these Terms
Material changes will be published with a new version. Account features may require renewed acceptance before further use. Earlier acceptance records remain attached to their original versions and timestamps. We will provide any notice required by applicable law. Changes are not treated as retroactive acceptance of new terms.
12. Applicable law, disputes, and contact
Applicable law and the courts with jurisdiction are determined by the rules that apply to you and the operator. These Terms do not require arbitration, waive class or collective remedies, or remove access to mandatory local consumer forums. Please contact the operator first to try to resolve concerns. If any provision conflicts with mandatory local law, that law takes precedence.

13. Test promotion programme
Eligible verified personal GitHub repository owners can request promotion in a separate Sponsored section. Administrator approval precedes test checkout. The introductory test offer is £15 for 30 active days, with no subscription or automatic renewal. There are at most five reserved or running places; paused promotions retain their place. Confirmed repository or demo outages pause the remaining time, which resumes following recovery. Availability is periodically checked and is not guaranteed to be detected instantly. Temporary check errors preserve the previous state.
Test checkout does not charge real money. Test placements are visible only to administrators as previews and are not genuine paid endorsements. Payment does not purchase editorial selection or guarantee traffic, clicks, forks, sales, or a fixed position on every visit. Placements rotate fairly and respect visitor filters. Unpaid checkout reserves capacity until Stripe expires its session. Changes to the approved demo URL or repository ownership may require an administrator refund and a new request. Real payments require a separate launch with completed operator, payment, tax, consumer-rights and promotion terms setup.
